Job Description:

Bryan Manor currently has openings for certified Nursing staff: Full time RN and LPN.

The primary purpose of your job position is to provide direct nursing care to the residents, and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by Nursing Assistants. Such supervision must be in accordance with current Federal, State, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be required by the Director or Charge Nurse to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

Tasks may involve exposure to blood/body fluids.

SUPERVISOR THIS POSITION
Supervisor is the Director of Nurses, or in his/her absence, the Assistant Director of Nurses.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Chart nurses’ notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the resident
• Contact Physician as needed to report status change of client; results of testing/treatments.
• Receive orders from Physicians, transcribe to physicians’ order sheet, and nurses’ notes and MAR. Orders can be for: Medication, Treatments, Diet, Programming, PT/OT, Equipment and Others
• Contact pharmacy to obtain medication in a timely manner. Transcribe orders on MAR. Insure medication is delivered and started as ordered.
• Document use of all 48-hr/PRN medication as prescribed, including results on MAR. Contact physician if PRN does not address condition or condition lasts longer than 48 hrs. and Document resolution
• Review documentation from Flow Sheets to determine pattern of potential problems
• Contact Physician if vitals/orders for treatments/assessment are outside the prescribed parameters for further orders.
• Document daily input/outputs; dietary intake; vitals.
• Work closely with DSP and other direct care staff to keep them informed of any change in an individual’s condition/health status.
• Prepare and administer medications and treatments as ordered
• Assure work areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner
• Maintain CONFIDENTIALITY of all pertinent resident care information.
• Call family to report any change of status

• Read and be responsible for ALL Nursing Policies and Procedures.
• Provide complete information to oncoming staff in shift report meeting.
• Assist in training new personnel regarding the facility, its policies and procedures and to his/her job position and duties.
• Each shift will have specific job duties assigned in addition to this list of requirements.
• Follow facility vehicle policies

Job Requirements:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Must be, as a minimum, graduate of an approved LPN/RN program.
• Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as an LPN/RN in this state.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
IDPH DSP Certification or IDPH Nurse Aid Certification preferred, but not required.

• Excellent Communication skills - both verbal and written
• Excellent Organization and time management skills
• Good interpersonal skills required
• Strong attention to detail
• Defensive driver
