Job Description:

This position sets up and operates molding machines to cast products from fiberglass compound using various pieces of equipment.

Essential Job Functions
• Remove sheets of compound from baskets weighing approximately 35 lbs.
• Cut sheets of compound into squares and weight out desired amount for appropriate mold
• Blow off die using an air wand
• Lift part from the die and set onto trimming table
• Trim flash from part using a round DA sander
• Lift parts into cooling rack or drill fixture for finishing
• Finish parts with specific attention to detail
• Check completed products for conformance to specifications and for defects
• Complete all job-related paperwork associated with the fabrication of each part built
• Any and all other tasks and functions as may be assigned by the Molding Supervisor, Production Superintendent, or other upper management.

Working Environment
Ability to work in a non-climate controlled (may be above 90 degrees), fiberglass dust environment. Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.


Job Requirements:

Physical Demands
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands:
• Significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling (up to 50 lbs)
• Some climbing and balancing;
• Frequent stooping, knelling, crouching, and/or crawling
• Occasionally walking
• Standing for at least a ten-hour work shift
• Will require use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as deemed appropriate for the department and job function by Swan

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Perform single, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills.
• Operation of equipment used in manufacturing of fiber glass-based products such as sinks, shower panels, and tubs including molding press, sanders, nail guns, etc.
• Perform basic math and measuring skills

• General knowledge of how to use downward and upward moving presses
• General knowledge of how to read a scale and understand weights and measures
• Ability to read measuring instruments
• Ability to identify tools and use them correctly and in a safe manner
• Ability to use a variety of cutting and hand tools and equipment, etc.
• Ability to follow all written procedures
• Ability to adapt to changing work priorities.
• Ability to communicate with diverse groups.
• Ability to meeting deadlines and schedules.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull, climb, balance, stoop, and kneel

Company Information

Shift Hours/Days: Mon-Thursday 10 hours, 5:30 am-4 pm/ 4 pm – 2:30 am) Weekend; Fri, Sat, Sun – 12 hours 4 am- 4:30 pm/ 4 pm – 4:30 am (work 36 hours and get 4 regular hrs paid) On the Weekend shift, the employee will receive 4 hours regular pay if they work their 36 hours with no time missed, so it is 40 hours.
